This guide is meant for merchants on Google Analytics 4. For Universal Analytics configurations, head to this article instead.

The Oddle platform offers a simple way to leverage on the power of Google Analytics 4 for tracking of visitors, customer behaviour and other reporting purposes. With Oddle's built-in integration with Google Analytics 4, you can easily enable Google Analytics 4 on your Online Shop without the need for adding a separate script code.

1. Getting Started Checklist

  • Ensure that you do not have any Google Analytics related scripts running on your Oddle Shop. Having 2 or more instances of Google Analytics on your Oddle Shop may result in inaccurate tracking.

  • Click admin

  • At the top of the "Property" column, select your property.

  • In the "Property" column, click Data streams.

  • Setup a Web Data Stream

To enable Google Analytics on your Oddle Shop, you simply need to your add your Google Analytics Measurement ID. To add your tracking ID:

  1. Navigate to the marketing module in your dashboard (Online Ordering > Settings).

  2. Under "Shopping Cart Tracking" > "Google Analytics Tracking ID", paste your Google Analytics Measurement ID.

After adding your measurement ID, it may take up to 24 hours before your Google Analytics 4 dashboard is populated with data.

3. Events Tracked by this Integration

Google Analytics 4 uses a flexible event-based data model instead of a session-based data model. This means that interactions (events) are recorded for a customer whenever they perform an action.

Oddle's in-built integration with Google Analytics 4 means that Oddle automatically sends Google Analytics 4 the following events to help you better understand your customer's behaviours and interactions on your Online Shop.
