The marketing popup with newsletter signup is a useful tool to help you obtain the email addresses of website visitors for future email marketing.
It is advisable to familiarise yourself with the basic marketing popup settings before reading this article.
In this article:
1. Request for Visitor's First and Last Name
Knowing your visitor's name helps to establish rapport and build a closer relationship. You can request for the first and last name of the visitor who viewed the marketing popup on your Oddle Shop. This setting is activated by default when you add a marketing popup.
2. Personalise Your Thank You Message
Wouldn't it be great if you can address your visitor by name once they have subscribed to your marketing popup?
You can personalise your thank you message simply by typing #{{firstName}} into the Header, Body, or Close Button text under the Successful Signup Settings section! We have already added this to the default Headings text template.
The first name of the visitor will be displayed if it has been requested for in the marketing popup (See above). If no first name is requested, your visitor will be addressed as Dear Friend!
3. Disable Your Popup Temporarily
We know how agonising it is to have to delete a popup that you have painstakingly created when you just want to temporarily disable it (e.g. between seasonal campaigns).
The Enable Marketing Popup toggle allows you to activate or disable your popup without having to remove the entire marketing popup section!
To temporarily disable your marketing popup, go to the marketing popup section of the Oddle Shop Editor and turn the Enable Marketing Popup toggle off (grey).

Enable Marketing Popup toggle is switched on.
Remember, always click "Publish" for the changes made to be reflected on your Oddle Shop!
