The following illustration is a brief overview of the Variants & Options methods that you can use to build your shopping cart menu.

In this article:

Creating Variants

Variants of a product item are modifications (i.e. size, colour, weight) of a particular food item.
Each combination of variants need to be manually keyed in and tagged to a price.

In time to come, statistical analysis can be performed on these variants to determine which size/colour/weight is most popular.

How To Create Variants?

All these changes can be made in the new Merchant Dashboard by going to Menus > Menu Name > Manage your menu > Select Category > Item

1. Click Add in the Variants box.

2. Type the item modifiers (i.e. small, medium, large) in Add Variant Name box and add the price next to it.

3. Click Save.

💡 You may click and drag on the triple horizontal black line to re-order the variants.

5. If you wish to have more variants, type the item modifier and price in the following Add Variant Name and Add Price boxes respectively.

Click Save when you are done.

📌 Modifiers are sorted in ascending orders of price in the shopping cart.

Options are used if there is a product requires customisation from the customers (i.e selecting different toppings for a salad).

2. Click Add New Option.

3. Input the option name/description in the Option name box. (i.e. Select five toppings)

4. Input the minimum selection quantity for this option.

📌 For options that are already pre-existing items in the menu: If customers

  • Regular price in the menu: $0.90

  • Minimum selection: 3

  • Price in option: $0.80 (*Refer to the later part of this article on how to set the prices for options)

If 3 or less fishballs from this option are selected by the customer when ordering, each fishball will be charged at $0.80.

5. Input the maximum selection quantity for this option. Customers will not be able to select more than the maximum quantity set.
