How to Add an Item

Step 1: Start by accessing the Oddle Dashboard. From the top-left corner, select the brand name relevant to your menu.

Step 2: Under Manage, go to Menus. Click on the desired menu name to begin managing your menu.

Step 3: Adding an item can be done in three ways:

Method 1 - Adding a New Item:

  1. Click the "+" icon next to Item.

  2. Fill in the Item Information by specifying the name and description.

  3. Under Price And Variations, you can create different variations (like size, preparation style, flavour) of this item. Click + Add Variation and indicate the price for each variation. If there won't be any variations for the item, just add the item price next to the pre-filled or greyed out variation name.

  4. With Option Groups, you can provide options for your customers to customise or add on to their item. Click + Add Option Group to do so. For guidance on adding option groups, refer to our guide here.

  5. For Images, you can upload up to 10 images from various sources like your device, link, camera, Facebook, Google Photos, Instagram, Dropbox, or Google Drive.
    ​
    The recommended image specifications are 800 x 800 pixels, in JPG or PNG format, and a maximum size of 10MB.
    ​

  6. In the Category settings, you can choose a specific category for this item.
    ​
    If you toggle off this switch, the item will automatically fall under the "Other Items" category as an uncategorised item. If you want to assign it to a specific category later, go to "Other Items" at the bottom of the category list, click on the Item Name, and select a specific category. Remember to click Save.

  7. Under Item Visibility, you can choose to display this item on Oddle Shop and/or the Oddle Register menu by toggling the switches.

  8. Select the Item Type to determine when this item should be available on Oddle Shop.
    ​

    • If you choose Regular Item, specify the available days and indicate if it is only available for a specific collection time. If it is available at all times, leave the toggle disabled.

    • If you select Seasonal Item, provide the start and end dates for the ordering period and the collection period (applies to both delivery and pickup).
      ​

  9. Once you've filled in the details, click Add Item to save.
    ​

Note: Pay attention to the icons next to the item name. These icons may also be displayed on the categories where your items are listed. Even if you've created the items as regular items, their behaviour may be influenced by the category settings they belong to.

⏲️ A stopwatch signifies that an item has a specific collection time.

πŸ“… A calendar indicates a seasonal item.

πŸ›’ A cart means that the item is exclusively shown on Oddle Shop only.

πŸ“  A cash register indicates that the item is only displayed on Oddle Register.

⚠️ If you encounter a situation where a menu item or an item within an option group still appears as "unavailable" on the Oddle Shop, even after confirming its availability in the menu management page, we kindly recommend checking the Store Item Availability Settings on Oddle Register. It's possible that they may be configured to be unavailable for some or all of your stores there.

Method 2 - Quick Item:

  1. Click + Add Quick Item.
    ​

  2. Simply type in the item name and click Add Item to save. You can return later to complete the setup by clicking on the Item Name to add more information, adjust visibility settings, and item type.

By default, a newly created quick item will not be made available for the Oddle Shop and Register yet. To activate it, click on the quick item name, adjust its visibility settings, and then click Save.

Method 3 - Duplicating an Item:

  1. If you want to create multiple categories with the same information, visibility, or type, you can use the duplicate option.
    ​

  2. First, click on the Item Name that you want to duplicate.
    ​

  3. In the pop-up page to edit the item, click the "Duplicate" button.
    ​

  4. After duplicating, you will see a copy of the item in the list. Click on the Item Name to edit the name or make adjustments to the information, visibility settings, or item type. Be sure to click Save changes when you're finished.


How to Edit or Delete an Item

Step 1: On the menu management page, simply click on the Item Name that you wish to edit.

Step 2: If you want to delete the item, you can do so after clicking on the Item Name. Scroll to the bottom of the pop-up page to find the "Delete" button.

Please note that once an item is deleted, this action cannot be undone.
