How to Add a Category

Step 1: Start by accessing the Oddle Dashboard. From the top-left corner, select the brand name relevant to your menu.

Step 2: Under Manage, go to Menus. Click on the desired menu name to begin managing your menu.

Step 3: Adding a category can be done in three ways:

Method 1 - Adding a New Category:

  1. Click the "+" icon next to Category.

  2. Fill in the Category Information by specifying the name and description.

  3. Under Category Visibility, you can choose to display this category on Oddle Shop and/or the Oddle Register menu by toggling the switches.
    ​

  4. Select the Category Type to determine when this category should be available on Oddle Shop.

    • If you choose Regular Category, specify the available days and indicate if it is only available for a specific collection time. If it is available at all times, leave the toggle disabled.

    • If you select Seasonal Category, provide the start and end dates for the ordering period and the collection period (applies to both delivery and pickup).

  5. Once you've filled in the details, click Add Category to save.
    ​

Note: Please take note of the icons displayed next to the category name. The settings of these icons can have an impact on how all the items within this category behave.

⏲️ A stopwatch signifies that a category has a specific collection time.

πŸ“… A calendar indicates a seasonal category.

πŸ›’ A cart means that the category is exclusively shown on Oddle Shop only.

πŸ“  A cash register indicates that the category is only displayed on Oddle Register.

Method 2 - Quick Category:

  1. Click + Add Quick Category.
    ​

  2. Simply type in the category name and click Add Category to save. You can return later to complete the setup by clicking on the "Pencil" icon to add more information, adjust visibility settings, and category type.

By default, a newly created quick category will not be made available for the Oddle Shop and Register yet. To activate it, click on the "Pencil" icon next to the quick category, adjust its visibility settings, and then click Save.

Method 3 - Duplicating a Category:

  1. If you want to create multiple categories with the same information, visibility, or type, you can use the duplicate option.
    ​

  2. First, click the "Pencil" icon next to the existing category you want to duplicate.
    ​

  3. In the pop-up page to edit the category, click the "Duplicate" button.
    ​

  4. After duplicating, you will see a copy of the category in the list. Click the "Pencil" icon next to it to edit the name or make adjustments to the information, visibility settings, or category type. Be sure to click Save changes when you're finished.

How to Edit or Delete a Category

Step 1: On the menu management page, simply click the "Pencil" icon next to the category name you wish to edit.

Step 2: If you want to delete the category, you can do so after clicking the "Pencil" icon. Scroll to the bottom of the pop-up page to find the "Delete" button.

Please note that deleting a category will also delete all the items within it, and this action cannot be undone after deletion.
