Sign and Tip on receipts
Updated over a week ago

Allow your customers to sign and tip for their meal on a printed receipt. Signing and tipping will only work if the transaction belongs to a currently open batch.

⚠️ At the moment, Sign and Tip on printed receipts only works for VISA and Mastercard.

To use this feature, make sure that tipping is enabled in the app settings. Learn how to enable sign and tip on receipt.

Enabling Tipping

To enable Tipping on Oddle Terminal, please follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Settings page

  2. Press the switch at the "Collect Tip" section

Adding a tip

After enabling tipping, you will now be able to see a button to edit tip at the confirmation screen of each payment. There will also be changes to the receipt printed to allow customers to indicate their tip amount on the receipt.

After you've known the amount the customer wants to tip, press the add tip button to begin adding a tip. You can select from pre-calculated amounts based on the common tip percentages, or key in a custom tip amount.

⚠️ Add tip button will be disabled if payment is not made using either Mastercard or Visa

Editing Tip

To edit a tip, navigate to the transactions page and find the transaction to be edited. You can edit the tip by clicking on the "adjust tip" button. There is a limited number of attempts to edit the tip.

View Tips online

To view tips collected, navigate to the billing reports page on merchant dashboard. Under the "Terminal" section, you will be able to see the tip amount collected over the period of time selected.

You can also view tips collected individually by checking the sales > Terminal payments page on merchant dashboard.
