Introducing the new Oddle Reserve Host App v3! 🎉

Switch to the new version of Oddle Reserve Host app and get access to all the latest features.

📌 As part of our continuous efforts to provide the best solutions, we will be upgrading all merchants to the Host App V3 on 30th June 2023. Until then, you will continue to have access to V2. Please note that after 30th June 2023, V2 will be discontinued, and V3 will become the sole operating version.

We have just released a brand new version of the Oddle Reserve Host App - version 3! 🎉 The new version is more flexible, efficient, intuitive and enjoyable to use as compared to version 2.

In this article, we’re going to introduce the new Host App but before that, take a look at the introduction video.


What is this upgrade about?

We have updated and refreshed one of our most beloved products - the Oddle Reserve Host App! The new Host App v3 is a web-based application that allows restaurants to manage their reservations on any browser or tablet. When comparing against v2, there are 4 main changes


1. Unrestricted reservation management - Create and edit reservations with confidence.

An overhauled system catered for flexibility - Reservations can be added to any date & time by you while your online schedules control what’s bookable by customers online.

Accommodate ad-hoc reservations outside of your regular schedules.

Receive a request from a long-time VIP for a reservation outside of your regular services or any unplanned services? Now, you can easily book a reservation at any time of the day without creating a new schedule. Simply select any date and time in the system.

Take phone reservations without having to create any services.

Not ready to open your restaurant for online bookings yet? You can still accept phone reservations and use our system to help you manage them.

Edit reservations with confidence.

In the past, you’d had or change a Reservation’s ticket to another service if you wanted to move a weekday service to a weekend service. You can now easily modify reservations just by changing the date & time without worrying about whether your tickets or services have been set up correctly.


2. All the information you need at your fingertips.

A brand new interface is built to show you important information you’ll need to make decisions quicker.

See everything you need for the day’s operations with the new reservation list.

The redesigned home page displays all your reservations for the day. We have improved the status chip design to make them more distinct and easier to recognize at a glance. Customer and staff notes are now always visible without needing to view the full reservation details. You can quickly see how many customers are coming and which customers require more attention.

Find available timeslots & tables with ease - no more overbooking.

When taking reservations, you can now quickly identify available timeslots. You can also easily view which tables are occupied or may result in conflicting reservations, allowing you to determine if you can squeeze in an additional turn.

Plan ahead with our revamped calendar view.

Easily get an overview of your reservations in the month with the new revamped calendar view. You’ll also be able to see what services are running on a particular day, which days are blocked or running a special schedule. You’ll also be able to spot busy or slow days so that you can make better decisions around scheduling and staffing.


3. Process reservations like a wizard.

Designed & built to help you do more in less time.

Improved quick actions for fast hosting work.

We have kept the “Seat” and “Depart” buttons for quick check-ins and check-outs. Calling a guest to confirm his reservation? You can quickly confirm guests with the confirm button or edit the reservation with the new edit quick action button if there are any changes.

Change statuses in 2 taps.

Easily changes statuses without having to edit. Simply tap the status drop down and switch statuses.


4. Scheduling streamlined.

Simplified schedule setup.

You no longer need to create workarounds for your in-house services. Create services that match what you want your customers to see online.

Effortless management.

Edit your existing schedules with confidence – changes in scheduling will no longer require you to edit affected reservations, you can keep the reservations as they are. We have also improved the system so that you can now block out multiple dates at one go. Your special schedules will be automatically archived once the event has passed, keeping your schedule clutter free and organised.

Can I switch back to v2 once I’m in v3?

Once you switch to v3, you will not be able to change back to v2. However, except for the floorplan, v3 has all the same features as v2 and is designed to provide a better user experience, such as increased flexibility and greater efficiency, so we highly recommend users to use v3. Further, we will be sunsetting v2 in the next year so all merchants will have to switch to v3 if they want to continue using Oddle Reserve in the future.


What differences in features are there between v2 and v3?

The main difference in features between v2 and v3 is that v3 currently does not include a floorplan view. We have removed this view from the Host App as we are working on improving it further.


What browsers and versions is compatible with?

v3 has been built to be compatible with:

  • Chrome 64+

  • Edge 79+

  • Firefox 67+

  • Opera 51+

  • Safari 15+

🛟 To have the best user experience with the Host App, we advise you to upgrade your table and browser to the latest available version.


Can I still use v3 if I feel I need my floorplan view feature?

Since v3 does not have a floorplan feature currently, merchants who depend on their floorplan view can continue to use v2. We will be providing updates to v3 to ensure merchants have other views to use and will be updating merchants once these are released.


Can I switch only one of my stores to v3?

Unfortunately not, since switching to v3 happens at the brand level, all stores will be updated once the switch happens.


What happens to all my data in v2? Will I lose it if I switch to v3?

All your data will remain from v2 as part of v3 and will be accessible immediately in the v3 interface once you have switched over.


How can I not switch to v3?
