How do I create manual reservations for Paid Tickets?

If a customer calls to book a paid ticket, create manual reservations for paid tickets seamlessly.

Whether it's a bustling Chinese New Year celebration or a big family gathering, easily create and manage reservations for paid tickets directly through the Host app - regardless, of whether the ticket is available online on the customer booking page or not.

In this article, we are going to explore how to


Add manual reservations for paid tickets

When a customer calls into your restaurant and wants to secure a reservation for a paid ticket/event, follow the steps below.

  1. In the Oddle Reserve Host V3 App. Navigate to any of the views and click on the "Add Reservation" button.

  2. Ensure that you are in the "Reservation" tab.

  3. Add the relevant reservation and customer details.

  4. Select the appropriate ticket.

    1. Paid Tickets

      1. The line below the ticket name indicates the payment method, price and per reservation or pax.

    2. Online and Available

      1. Available tickets found on your customer booking page will have a chip called "Online". [e.g: Special events like Chinese New Year bookings]

    3. Offline and Available

      1. Available tickets but they cannot be found on your customer booking page will not have any chips. [e.g: Large pax or event bookings]

    4. Inactive

      1. Unavailable or old tickets that have now been disabled. It has a chip called "Inactive".

  5. Select between


Online Payment Link

Payment is made online through Oddle. Reservation is on hold for a period of time, only when the guest pays, will the reservation be secured and booked.

🚨 Do take note: the customer has to have an email to make an online payment or send an online payment link.

  1. Select Payment Type > Online Payment in the Payment Request Details card. Do also check the payment breakdown to verify the final amount you want the guest to pay.

  2. Select the appropriate validity period in the Payment Link Settings. This is the period the customer has before the reservation expires and will not be on hold anymore. Guests have to make the payment before then.

  3. Select the appropriate messaging channel to send the payment link. Decide if you want to send the payment link via email and/or SMS in the Customer Notification section.

  4. Fill in other reservation-related details and add a note if need be.

  5. Click on Add Reservation at the bottom right.

  6. View the reservation, copy the payment and share it with the customer if need be.


Guest POV

  1. Check their SMS or email for the payment link. Guests can see when they need to make the payment by

  2. Clicks the link and gets redirected to the customer booking page

    1. If the customer has an Oddle Pass, they are required to log in

  3. Check the reservation and personal details. Accept policy and Proceed to Payment

  4. Confirm the final amount and make the payment to book their reservation

  5. Once payment is finalised, the reservation is changed from pending to booked.

What happens if the Payment Link has expired?

To check the expiry time of a Pending reservation,

  1. View the "Pending" reservations in the Pending tab.

  2. Scroll to the Payment Request Configuration section.

  3. View how long till the Reservation expires in the Pending Reservation section.

What happens after the reservation expires,

❗ Reservation is not on hold anymore. The reservation has been "let go" because the guest has failed to pay to secure their reservation. The guest should call the restaurant again to create a new booking and pay immediately.

  • View the "Expired" Reservation in the Expired tab.

  • Reservation and Payment status moved from Pending to Expired.


Manual Payment

Payment is made outside of Oddle, guests either pay in person or through other means.

  1. Select Payment Type > Manual Payment in the Payment Request Details card.

  2. Select Payment Status.

    1. Paid/Guaranteed

    2. Pending

  3. If you select Pending, select the expiry time.
    The reservation is placed on hold and expires if you do not change the status from Pending to Booked.

  4. If you select Paid or Guaranteed, the reservation will be booked after step 6. It will not be on hold like step 3.

  5. Add a "note for the payment request" to track since the payment was made outside of Oddle.

  6. Click "Add Reservation" to create a manual reservation at the bottom right.

Important thing to note:

For manual payments, you will not be able to refund the customer since the payment was done outside of Oddle.

For Reservation & Payment status = Pending, the reservation is placed on hold till the expiry time. Reservation is not yet booked and will expire after a fixed time. Update the reservation status from Pending to Booked when the guest pays to prevent reservation expiration and booking loss!

For Reservation & Payment status = Pending

To check the expiry time of a Pending reservation,

  1. View the "Pending" reservations in the Pending tab.

  2. Scroll to the Payment Request Configuration section.

  3. View how long till the Reservation expires in the Pending Reservation section.

What happens after the reservation expires,

  • Reservation is no longer on hold and is "let go"

  • View the "Expired" Reservation in the Expired tab.

  • Reservation and Payment status moved from Pending to Expired
