Order Processing Flow Overview

This article provides an overview of how you should process and manage your customer's order.

Orders placed by your customers go through the statuses: Pending > Confirmed > Fulfilled.

πŸ“Œ Auto confirmation of orders is only available for offline orders created
manually via iPad Oddle Register App or WebPOS. For online orders, initial
order status will always be Pending.

You can remember the steps easily with the "5Cs" below.

1. Check for Pending Order

  • You will receive a notification when a new order is submitted by your customer.

  • New order goes into the "Pending" folder.

  • Click on the new order and verify:
    a. If the item is for pickup or delivery
    b. when is food is to be ready by
    c. what are the items ordered
    d. if payment has been made

2. Confirm Order Once Details are Verified

  • Change the order status to "Confirmed".

  • The order will move into the "Confirmed" folder.

  • An email is sent to customer to inform that the order has been confirmed

3. Call for Delivery Rider in Advance (Skip this Step for Pickup Orders)

As delivery riders are generally crowd-sourced, you should make your delivery request in advance once the order is confirmed. This improves the probability of matching a delivery rider to your delivery request.

πŸ“Œ Delivery request is already made if your store is on automated delivery
request setting.

🚨 Avoid choosing motorcycles when delivering cakes/pastries or fragile
items as it will lead to food damage.
  • Click on the delivery request button and select a suitable vehicle type depending on the size and type of food to be delivered.

  • Ensure that the delivery request is successfully sent - the delivery request status will be "Assigning Driver". If delivery request status shows Failed, please contact Oddle immediately.

  • The delivery request status will automatically update to "Driver Assigned" once a delivery rider is matched.

4. Cook and Prepare Food On Time

Follow the "kitchen to prepare food by" time stated and ensure that your food is prepared timely.

πŸ“Œ For delivery orders, the "kitchen to prepare food by" time will be
earlier than your customer's expected delivery time to account for travel
time.
πŸ’‘ Check when your delivery rider is arriving by clicking on the delivery
request button to view the estimated time to store (information is only
available 30 minutes before rider pickup time).

5. Complete the order

Delivery orders requested through our delivery integration will automatically be marked as "Fulfilled" with an email is sent to the customer to inform that the order is completed.

For pickup orders or delivery orders not requested via integration, please update the order status manually:

  • Change the order status to "Fulfilled".

  • The order will move into the "Fulfilled" or "General" folder.

  • An email is sent to customer to inform that the order is completed.

πŸ“Œ You should only complete the order after the end of the order's delivery time since the food might still be in the process of delivery.
