Q: Why Stripe?
A: The main advantage of using Stripe as one of your payment gateways is that it reduces the friction encountered by your customer during checkout (less fields to populate). Next, the official Stripe transaction charges are also lower than the official PayPal transaction charges (keyword being official as some merchants may be getting preferential rates). It is also easy to get started with Stripe. The whole Stripe account setup process takes less than 15 minutes to complete.
Q: I have not heard of them. How secure is Stripe?
Q: How does Stripe mitigate the risks of fraud?
A: Similar to all other payment gateways like PayPal, Stripe has a proprietary method of evaluating transactions for fraud. If a transaction has been detected as being potentially fraudulent, Stripe will block the transaction.
Q: I have a customer who is disputing a particular charge as being unauthorized, what is the dispute resolution process?
A: When a customer raises a dispute and/or chargeback, an investigation will be opened by Stripe. Based on the evidence submitted by both the customer and the merchant, Stripe will determine whether a dispute is legitimate. Q: What are the transaction charges for Stripe?
A: You can take a look at the transaction charges for Stripe here. Do note that there is an additional 0.6% for credit cards that are not issued by a local bank. American Express cards incur this additional 0.6% regardless of the country of issue.
Q: How can refunds be done with Stripe via the Oddle Dashboard?
A: If an order was transacted through the Oddle Shopping Cart with Stripe, the order will appear in the Online Transactions tab. Just click on Refund and that's it! Do note that partial refunds can only be performed by Oddle on your behalf.
Q: How can refunds be done with Stripe via the Stripe Dashboard?
A: Login to your Stripe Dashboard, click on Payments, then find the transaction which you would like to perform a refund for. Next, click on Refund Payment. In the popup that appears, select Full Refund followed by Refund.
Q: How do I withdraw funds from Stripe to my bank account?
A: Funds will be automatically transferred to your bank account on a rolling 7-day basis. For example, transactions completed within this 7-day period will be transferred to your bank account at the start of the next 7-day period.
Q: How long will it take for Stripe funds to be sent to my bank account?
A: The length of time it takes for Stripe funds to be deposited into your bank account depends on the country and bank. After the transfer has been initiated at the start of every 7-day period, it may take between a day to a week for the funds to reach your bank account.
Q: How can I reconcile my Stripe payments with my Oddle orders?
A: Login to your stripe.com account. Click on the Payments tab followed by the "Export all Payments" button.
Next, login to your Oddle Dashboard, click on the Orders tab, filter accordingly and then Download to export all your Orders.
Note: Do be aware that there may be a need to export orders that have been voided so that these can be reconciled with refunded payments on Stripe.
